The titles compiled on the linked spreadsheet are being considered for withdrawal from the Library Collection. If you think that any of these titles should be retained, please send an email stating which titles should be retained to Ron Hardy (hardyr@uwosh.edu) by Tuesday February 7, 2012.

| 2012 Journal Selection Changes |

This year we intend to move 150 subscriptions to online format, completing the process of moving our entire subscription base of scholarly journals to online access. We will continue to support a smaller collection of 150 newspapers and magazines in print format. We are also proposing to cancel 142 subscriptions to titles that we already have online access to, or which have low use.

| How To Recommend Library Purchases |

 Faculty Book Selection (How to order a book) |

|
Polk Library allocates funds for faculty-initiated book recommendations and acquisitions. We no longer allocate funds by department for book orders, but instead have a single fund for all faculty requests. All faculty and instructional staff may submit book and media recommendations by sending the information to libraryorders@uwosh.edu .
If recommendations meet the following four guidelines they will be ordered:
- The title is not currently owned by the library;
- The title is recent, published in the last five years;
- The title costs under $100;
- There are less than four copies of the title available in the UW System through Universal Borrowing;
Orders that fall outside these guidelines will be reviewed on a regular basis giving consideration to the status of the budget, collection balance, and other factors. |
