Teacher/Student Interactions

Students in the department of journalism benefit from a high level of interaction with their professors. Only about 15 students are in each of the performance-based courses of the curriculum, which are held in small and well-equipped computer labs. This ensures that each student gets personal feedback on creative projects in advertising, public relations, and news writing classes. In addition, each journalism student meets with one of the journalism faculty members to register for classes each semester. The faculty member discusses the student’s career plans with him or her, and advises the student on which classes to take. Journalism student’s education at UWO is enhanced by this personal attention and feedback.
