| Macintosh Labs
The journalism department equips its three computer labs with Macintosh computers. Each lab has about 16 machines in it. Two of the three labs are equipped with eMacs; the third computer lab is equipped with iMacs. All of the labs are running Mac OS X "Panther". All of the labs have software that is common for mass media professionals such as Microsoft Office; Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator; and Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash. Most professionals in mass media work with Macintosh computers, so the three Mac labs in the UWO journalism department ensure a professional learning experience. These computer labs are open to journalism majors only, and open lab hours are scheduled on all weekday evenings.
