New class offered for fall 2009
A new class, “Selected Topics: Multimedia Production”, 61-454, is being offered this fall semester. It complements the journalism department’s Online Publishing class, which also is offered in the fall. Students can take either class individually, or both, since each offers distinct content. The prerequisites for Selected Topics: Multimedia Production are: 61-141 and 61-239 or 61-331, and 60 credits; or consent of the department chair. Here is a brief description of the new course:
“Selected Topics: Multimedia Production is designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge and advanced skills to create multimedia projects. This class will include advanced digital video production, non-linear editing and multimedia techniques. Practical skills with hand[s]-on learning activities and state of the art software for multimedia production are emphasized. At the end of the class, students will be expected to create a multimedia project that includes video, audio, image, text, and/or animation to demonstrate their multimedia skills. In addition, this class will cover fundamental concepts, theory of multimedia, and the applications of multimedia.”
