Renew your NEWSPA membership or join before Nov. 30 and save $10 in membership fees. When you do, you'll also be e-mailed the password for the members-only resource page, filled with Powerpoints, lesson plans, activities and more to help you in the classroom. Sessions from four speakers at the 2009 NEWSPA conference can now be downloaded and viewed on iTunes University. Click here to download the audio or video podcasts.

Speaker Powerpoints and handouts are also online. Go to the resources page (see button on left) and type in the 2009-10 password that was e-mailed to current members.

High school students eligible for "Free Spirit" scholarships
The Al Neuharth Free Spirit Scholarship and Journalism Conference program annually awards $1,000 college scholarships to high school seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in journalism and who demonstrate qualities of “free spirit.” The deadline has passed for the 2009 scholarship/conference program, but details on the 2010 scholarship/conference will be added here as they become available.
