Miles Maguire, associate professor, news-editorial. Joined faculty in 2000, with previous adjunct experience in 1997-98. Former reporter for The Washington Times, assistant business editor of The Baltimore Sun, Washington bureau chief and executive editor of American Banker Newsletters, publisher of The Port of Baltimore magazine and editor of Quality Progress, the monthly magazine of the American Society for Quality.

Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Maryland College Park. Master's degree in business administration from Loyola College.

Currently serves as president of the Oshkosh Community News Network, a “citizen journalism” initiative that was cited in 2005 as a “notable innovation in journalism” by the judges of the Batten Awards.

Recent articles have appeared in the Journal of Media Economics and the Newspaper Research Journal.
