The Department of Geology is pleased to announce the creation of

The C.W. Fetter Endowed Research Fund

to provide financial support to our student researchers for expenses such as

· travel costs,

· conference registration fees, and

· equipment and supplies

related to ongoing research in the Department, which currently includes

· the orogenic history of the Wasatch Range in Utah,

· the petrography of the Sierra Nevada batholith,

· the paleoecology of carbonate reefs throughout southern China, and

· the paleohydrology of sedimentary basins in northern Canada and Australia.

This fund was established with a $10,000 contribution from an anonymous friend of the Department

. . . and we've been challenged to meet or beat this mystery donor's contribution.
