Junior and Senior Geology majors: If you are planning to go to graduate school you should check out the service outlined below.  It could help you find a good graduate program:

The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is a non-profit organization that supports undergraduate research opportunities for faculty and students.

CUR has a program called the Registry of Undergraduate Researchers. The purpose of this registry is to facilitate matchmaking between undergraduates with research experience who wish to pursue an advanced degree and graduate schools who are seeking high quality students who are well prepared for research, which as a UW-Oshkosh Geology major, you are.

Currently the Registry is open to students and graduate schools/employers in nearly all the fields of science. Although it is preferred that you enter as much information as possible in your junior year, seniors are also encouraged to register. You can always update your information to include any new information/accomplishments, and any new research experiences.

The undergraduate registry can be accessed at www.cur.org/ugreg. There is no charge to you to register. When you register you will provide information about your interests, location preference, research experience, theses, transcript information, and other information. Your information is only supplied to the graduate schools and corporations that contract with CUR for this service. Organizations or companies seeking your information for other marketing purposes are not granted access.  This program has benefited both students and graduate schools/employers because it allows the potential advisor, school, or employer to narrow their search for well-qualified and interested students.
