Sigma Gamma Epsilon is a national honor society for Geology or Earth Science majors.

-Basic membership requirement is 10 geology course credits.
-Active members receive quarterly issues of the Compass, a student geology research journal.
-The cost for renewed membership is $15. For new members, the cost is $40 including initiation fee and annual dues.
-Payments must be made by check.

Pyrites of the Caribbean Adventure and Exhibit at the Weis Earth Science Museum

The exhibit opens Saturday, October 20, with a day full of swashbuckling adventure and activities for kids. The exhibit includes pyrite specimens from around the world, gemstone minerals, and pirate weapon replicas, as well as a few surprises. There will be pirate-related activities for kids from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 20, including a free prize if they come in costume (it's just before Halloween), a drawing for some real gold, craft activities, and more. http://www.fox.uwc.edu/wesm/events.html
