1975-1982 Assistant Professor, Department of Genetics, University of Georgia, Athens Projects: Genetics of mitochondrial function in cultured mammalian cells; sequence comparisons of mitochondrial DNA to establish phlyogenetic relationships within and between mammalian species.
1982-1983 Research Scientist, Genetica, Joinville-le-Pont, France. Project: Increasing production of vitamin B12 in Agrobacterium.
1984-1991 Director of Molecular Biology, Quadralogic Technologies, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Projects: Use of laser-induced phototoxicity to cleanse blood of retroviruses; The use of probe-based diagnostic systems for detecting viral and bacterial pathogens in farmed salmon.
1991-present Assistant Professor of Biology and Microbiology, U.W. Oshkosh. Projects: Use of feline leukemia virus as a model for the induction of programmed cell death in T-lymphocytes by retroviruses like HIV-1. Investigations of genomic differences between sibling species of leopard frogs (Rana pipiens) and their relationship to hybrid sterility.

1991-present. Assistant Professor of Biology and Microbiology, U.W.O. Have taught Genetics, Honors Introductory Biology, Virology, Evolution and Advanced Topics. Main informal interest bridging the chasm between evolutionary biologists and those who oppose the teaching of evolution for religious or spiritual reasons. I would especially welcome any student trained in biology, philosophy or religious studies interested in pursuing this latter topic.
