Education: BA Judson College, MA in Divinity from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ph.D. in Biblical Theology from Marquette University. |

Interests and expertise: Dr. Carlson was an Adjunct Professor of New Testament at Nashotah House Episcopal Seminary, Marquette University, Judson University, and is teaching this fall at the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. He has published an article entitled "Known in the Breaking of Bread" in the periodical Nova et Vetera. In the summer of 2006 he presented a paper on the Epistle to the Hebrews at a conference in St. Andrews, Scotland. Dr. Carlson’s dissertation traces the roots of the ascension of Christ in Hebrews to OT and Second Temple apocalyptic texts.
He and Michelle, his wife of 19 years, have a daughter, Emma. A native of the Chicago area, Jim is a fan of the Cubs and the Bears; he also enjoys Scomputers, motorcycles and movies. |
