Anthropology Major Requirements
- Minimum of 34 credits
- Required cor courses 16 credits:
- Cultural Anthropology
- Introduction to Archaeology
- History of Anthropological Thought
- Language in Culture
- Physical Anthropology
- Methods requirement: A minimum of three credits from Culture Methods, Field Work in Archaeology or Archaeological Analysis.
- Elective courses: Sufficient courses from the Department's offerings in Anthropology to meet the minimum requirement.
Anthropology Minor Requirements
- Minimum of 24 credits.
- Required core courses sixteen credits:
- Cultural Anthropology
- Introduction to Archaeology
- History of Anthropological Thought
- Language in Culture
- Physical Anthropology

Career Opportunities
Undergraduate training in Anthropology is an excellent foundation for a wide variety of careers in museums, archives, government agencies, non-profits, business, health care, law, and environmental and archaeological consulting firms. These jobs provide the opportunity to apply anthropoligical skills and perspectives as researchers, evaluators, and administrators. Many of our graduates have found satisfying careers by combining the open-minded, unprejudiced perspective that anthropology encourages with specific career training. The diversity of careers followed by our graduates has been turly amazing, but typical of the discipline.
