Titan Debate Institute

The Titan Debate Institute at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is a summer debate institute for experienced and new policy debaters.  The institute will run from June 27th – July 11th.   Registration deadline is May 28th.

The institute will focus on:

• Enhancing research skills
• Increasing speaking skills
• Argument construction
• Argument theory
• Strategy development
• Practice debates
• Learning prominent debate arguments

• Quality faculty – Our faculty have all competed on the national circuit in both high school and college, including NDT qualifiers, CEDA national debate tournament quarterfinalists, top 10 CEDA national debate tournament speakers and All Americans award winners.  The faculty is committed to making you the best debater you can be. 
• Practice Debates – A substantial amount of the institute is dedicated to practice debate rounds.  Practice debates will focus on strategy development, speaking skills, and perfecting the rebuttal speeches.  Pre-institute files will allow practice debates to start on the first day of camp.
• Evidence – All participants will receive a paper and digital copy of all the camp evidence.  There will be a pre-camp set of files given to each student on the first day of camp.  Debaters will also produce files during the camp.  Evidence production by the debaters will be overseen by the staff to ensure quality files.
• Adaptation – We understand that debaters from different regions have different speaking styles and argument styles.  We will adjust your practice debates and focus to meet your region.  
• Cost – We believe that debate institutes should provide debaters with an edge going into the new season and that they should be as affordable as possible.  We strive to make our prices the most reasonable in the country.  Scholarships are available!
