How do I apply a Grade Scheme to a Grade Item?

Grade Schemes can be applied to grade items all at one time or they can be applied to individual grade items.

Applying a Grade Scheme to a single Item

  1. Click Grades from the navigation bar.
  2. Click Manage Grades from the tabs on the top of the screen.
  3. Click the title of the Grade Item in which you would like to apply the grade scheme.
  4. Under the "Grading" section, click the "Grade Scheme" dropdown and select the scheme that should be applied to the grade item.
    Note: Do not use the grade schemes marked as "old" these schemes are based on a 8-point system (A, AB, B), not our current 12-point system (A, A-, B+)
  5. Click Save and Close.

Applying a Grade Scheme to all grade items in a course.

  1. Click Grades from the navigation bar.
  2. Click Schemes from the tabs on the top of the screen.
  3. A list of grade available grade schemes will be listed.
  4. Click the grey checkmark adjacent to the grade scheme that should be applied to grade items.  The checkmark will turn green, indicating the "active" grade scheme.
    Note: Do not use the grade schemes marked as "old" these schemes are based on a 8-point system (A, AB, B), not our current 12-point system (A, A-, B+).
  5. A new window will appear asking you to confirm your decision.  Click Yes. You now have a default grade scheme for all of your grade items in a course.
