How do I control the number of Activity Summary Messages I receive?

The Notification system allows users to receive a daily summary of activity for each course. This includes courses from previous semesters. If you received a large amount Activity Summary emails there is a solution.

Written Instructions

The notifications feature in D2L allows users to receive a daily summary of the activity that occurred in the courses in which they are enrolled.  However, this feature includes courses from previous semesters which can lead to a lot of summary emails.  To control the number of emails received users can completely stop receiving daily summary emails or can limit the messages to those courses that are currently running.

Option 1: Turn off Daily summary emails

  1. Click the drop down arrow next to your name on the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Select Notifications.
  3. Under the Summary of Activity Section, change the dropdown to Never.
  4. Click Save.

Option 2: Limit emails to the current semester

  1. Click the drop down arrow next to your name on the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Select Notifications.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page under Exclude Some Courses and click Manage my course exclusions
  4. Click the Exclude All Courses button.
  5. Type the code for the current semester in the Search Box.
    Semester Code
     Spring 2012 0665
    Summer 2012
    0668
     Fall 2012 0670
     Spring 2013 0675
