How do I manage News Items?

After a news Item has been read, it can be dismissed and stored in an archive area. The archives can be accessed at any time.

Dismissing News Items

News Items are listed at the Organizational and Course Level.  After a news item has been read, it can be dismissed by clicking the X to the right of the News Item.

Accessing Dismissed News Items

Once a News item has been dismissed it can be accessing the News tool.  

  1. Click the drop down arrow next to "News".
  2. Select Go to News Tool to access and review all dismissed News Items.

Restoring Dismissed Items

To restore a news item and have it appear on the Course or Organizational Home Page:

  1. Click the drop down arrow next to "News" 
  2. Select Go to News Tool.                                                        news widget dropdown
  3. Check the box on the desired news item.
  4. Click the drop down arrow next to the title of the news item.
  5. Select Restore.                                                                           Restore News Item
  6. The item will now appear on the course homepage in the News widget.
 
 

See All News Items

  1. In the news widget, click Show all news items. show all news items                                 
NOTE: This will only appear if a news item is on the course home page.
 
--OR--
  1. Click the drop down arrow next to "News" 
  2. Select Go to News Tool.                                                        news widget dropdown
 
 

Search for a News Item

  1. Access the News Tool from one of the two ways listed above in "See All News Items".
  2. Type in a key word(s) to find the news item. News Search Bar
  3. A list will be populated with the related search content.

 

 Delete a News Item

  1. Access the News Tool from one of the two ways listed above in "See All News Items".
  • Either click the drop down arrow to the right of the desired news item and then click Delete,
  • OR: Select the check box to the left of the desired news item(s) and click Delete on the top of the list of news items.
