How to set up Binder

Binder is a app that can be downloaded to your personal iPad/tablet. You can open and view documents associated with your Desire2Learn courses via the Binder app

Step 1: Download the App

Search your App Store for Binder and Download the application

  1. When searching for this application, it is easier to find if you search the term: Desire2Learn Binder.
  2. Select the word next to the application that says FREE.
  3. The word FREE will then change to the word INSTALL.
  4. Select the word INSTALL and the application will begin downloading.

Step 2: Enter your EduDentity Account Info

 If you dont have a EduDentity account yet:

  1. Follow this link to set up an EduDentity Account.
  2. Scroll down the page until you see three square boxes that say Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3.
  3. Inside the box titled Step 1, click the Create Account button.
  4. A pop up will open with text fields, fill in the text fields.
      • Enter your First and Last name in the first text box.
      • Enter and Confirm a Password in the next two text fields.
      • Create a security question that will be asked if a forgotten password is requested.
      • Enter and confirm the answer to your security question.
      • Make sure to check the selection box claiming that you are 13 years of age or older.
      • Finally click the button to Create Account.
  5. Open up your email account and open the email with "EduDentity account activation" in the description.
  6. Confirm the email address by clicking the link that looks like this: "Activate your EduDentity account by clicking here to confirm your email address" (INSIDE YOUR EMAIL).
  7. Proceed to: If you already have created a EduDentity account (below).

If you already have created a EduDentity account:

  1. Enter your EduDentity Username and Password.
  2. Click the "Sign in with EduDentity" button to continue to the application.

Step 3: Connect Binder to your Account

You need to connect Binder to the Oshkosh Desire2Learn Page

  1. Click on the orange Fetch Icon to start a new connection.
  2. In the text box that says "Web Adress" type in: uwosh.courses.wisconsin.edu
  3. After connecting to the server it will bring up the Oshkosh Desire2Learn login screen.
  4. Login using your netID account name, and password.
  5. The next page informs you that Binder want to have access to your account, so that you can open your files within the Binder application. Click the continue button.
  6. Binder should now display all your courses on the right half of the application, when you click the Fetch icon.
