How to set up a Google Chrome extension for ePortfolio

This will show you how to add the extension to your Chrome browser, and how to use the extension to share directly to your ePortfolio.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Download the Extension

  1. Go to this web address:
  2. At the top right, click the blue button that says "Add to Chrome".
  3. A pop up will ask you to confirm that this extension can access your data; Click the Add button.

Step 2: Set up the extension

  1. When taken to the page that asks for your server address, enter in this address:
    • For Desire2Learn: uwosh.courses.wisconsin.edu
    • For myDesire2Learn: mydesire2learn.com
  2. Click the Login button.
  3. It will take you to the Desire2Learn page; log into your D2L account.
  4. Click the newly added ePortfolio icon to finish connecting to your account:

  5. Then leave the address that you had entered before, and click login again.
  6. On the next page, it will inform you again that D2L needs access to your information.
  7. Click continue.
  8. It will bring up information about your account; review the info and you would like to change anything make sure to click the save button.

Step 3: Using the Extension

You can add links, files, screenshots and even reflections straight to your ePortfolio account.  When you find something that you want to save to your ePortfolio account, follow these steps:
  1. Click the ePortfolio icon that you have installed to your Chrome browser.
  2. In the drop down menu; Select what type of file you want to be added to your ePortfolio account.
  3. When you select the type you will receive a pop up box. Enter in a title and description for the file you are adding.

  4. Click the Add button on the bottom of the pop up to finish adding the file.
