Sexual Assault Statistics

UW Oshkosh: 2016

57 reported cases of sexual assault
48 of which knew their assailant
2 were on campus property
10 were off campus, but within 1 mile
45 were in a location not related to campus
23 involved alcohol and/or other drugs
15 - unknown if alcohol and/or other drugs were involved

A person of any gender can be a victim of sexual assault.
However, these statistics mention mostly female and male victims because those are the main populations research has been conducted on.

College Sexual Assault

1 in 5 women and 1 in 16 men are sexually assaulted while in college.

Students are at the highest risk of sexual assault during the first 6 weeks of the school year.
