Stalking & Harassment

Stalking & Harassment can happen to anyone regardless of appearance, age, race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, relationship/marital status, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, etc.

Both stalking and harassment fall under a federal civil rights law, Title IX, that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex against any person in education programs and activities receiving federal funding.

Students have the right to pursue education, including athletic programs, scholarships, and other activities, free from sex discrimination, including stalking and harassment. The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh must take necessary steps to prevent stalking and harassment on their campus, and to respond promptly and effectively when an incident is reported.
