Each year, the academic year for university staff culminates with the University Staff Development and Appreciation Day (USDAD). Chancellor Wells stated, "[University] staff at UW Oshkosh contribute greatly towards the vision, mission, and goals of the University and in creating a learning environment for our students to grow and develop." One of the campus initiatives he supports is the University Staff Development & Appreciation Day; the first USDAD was held June 1, 2001.
For 2014 USDAD, the Planning Committee felt inspired by the Chancellor's 2013-14 Opening Day Speech. Chancellor Wells' message boasted of our university's ability to collaborate, work as a community, and respect one another as a team.
