University staff are celebrated at the culmination of each academic year with a University Staff Development & Appreciation Day (USDAD).

Chancellor Wells stated, "[University] staff at UW Oshkosh contribute greatly towards the vision, mission and goals of the University and in creating a learning environment for our students to grow and develop." One of the campus initiatives he supports is the University Staff Development & Appreciation Day; the first USDAD was held June 1, 2001.
