2008 Classified Staff Development & Appreciation Day (read more)

  • 2007 Celebration of Lights

Again this year the Classified Staff here at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh volunteered their time and spirit to the “Celebration of Lights” at Menominee Park in December. Over 44 individuals were involved in this project; mostly staff, some very wonderful family members, and friends who helped in this very successful endeavor.

A good time was had by all; many volunteers have already said they are ready to volunteer again next year. I want to thank all who participated in this worthwhile undertaking. I want those who volunteered to know that they are indeed valuable assets to the entire UW Oshkosh campus community. I must also give a big thank you to Red Darland, who again this year coordinated this very successful volunteer project for CSAC.

Cheers to a job well done!

    Karen Reiter, Chair, CSAC

Each year Menomonee park is decked out in holiday lights.  The drive-thru experience is a fantastic holiday tradition for the entire family.  This is a wonderful event that not only benefits the community through the food donations that are collected, but it also benefits the volunteers and the campus. Employee volunteering not only builds teamwork skills and increases employee pride it also improves the campus's reputation and public image within the community.

Every year, the Oshkosh Celebration of Lights transforms picturesque Menominee Park into a Holiday Extravaganza! A drive through the park offers over one mile of spectacular lights and displays that create awe and inspire families from near and far. New this year is a spectacular 100 ft. lighted holiday tree, a lighted Ice Fountain display, two special events featuring pyrotechnics, a concession area, and a heated event tent for special community activities and private parties. http://www.oshkoshcelebrationoflights.org/
