TREASURER’S REPORT
There is a current balance of $259.63 which should be enough to cover
the outstanding expenses for the 2004-2005 academic year.
CHAIR’S REPORT
Jill reported that the executive committee’s meeting with Chancellor
Wells included a long discussion on how to achieve more visibility
for the CSAC. The Chancellor and the exec committee will be working
on ideas for a possible article in the Northwestern that would highlight
some of the good things happening on campus instead of the budget
cuts. The committee decided that the exec committee should meet with
the Chancellor soon to discuss possibly dropping the picnic supper
on CSDAD so that the day doesn’t get to be such a long one.
Jill asked the committee to consider whether it would like to create a timeline for the upcoming year to help keep the committee on track with it’s goals. She also suggested that we might increase visibility by helping at Fall Fest this year.

• CSDAD Planning – Jean Bord
Jean reported for Lynda Olsen that the day was a success, though number
in attendance was down. There were 28 people that didn’t show
up for the day, according to how many folders were never picked up,
but most committee members acknowledged that some people picked up
their folders and went home as a free day with pay. Some possible
suggestions for keeping people at the day were to have people prepay
for seminars that charge a fee and/or take attendance at seminars
to see who is missing.
Jean heard from ROTC that they felt excluded. Since they are federal, NOT state employees, the council felt that there was no reason to include them in the day’s activities.
There was general discussion on the games. Few people participated this year so changing the format in some way was suggested. The possibility of another scavenger hunt (done in an earlier year) was suggested.

NEW CSAC BUSINESS
• CSAC Goals for 2005/2006: CSAC Visibility (Roseanne Hoefel
and/or Community Service Projects)
In an effort to make the CSAC more visible on campus and in the community,
it was suggested that the council either take part in or volunteer
for the Roseanne Hoefel run/walk next spring. Red Darland also distributed
copies of a listing of community service projects that the council
may want to become involved in. She will invite Annie, the person
who provided the listing, to our next council meeting to help the
committee possibly make a choice for involvement. Council members
were asked to review the handout and come to next month’s meeting
with the top three choices from the listing. Any additional ideas
not on the listing will also be considered at next month’s meeting
– just make sure to obtain as much information about your idea
as possible, i.e. time commitment, number of volunteers needed, etc.
NEXT CSAC MEETING: Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in Dempsey
212.
