APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes from the September 24th CSAC meeting were approved by consensus.
TREASURER’S REPORT
No change, there were no transactions.
CHAIR’S REPORT
· Chancellor Wells will attend the November 9th CSAC meeting.
· Jill R. has volunteered to serve on the new Academic Building
Committee.
· The newsletter is nearly done and looks great. Kudos to Dan
Hoyt and Michelle Jensen.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
· ACUG Representative Michelle Jensen
There is a backlog of work. IT is working hard to catch up, but it
will be some time. There are many tough problems around State contracts
that are costing UW Oshkosh a lot of money.
· Liaison- Senate of Academic Staff AnnMarie Johnson
No report.
· Awards & Recognition Marlene Zdanovec
The November STAR winner will be chosen soon. Paulette Feld is the
October winner. Sabrina Johnson will explore announcing the STAR winner
through campus e-mail.
· Committee on Committees - Karen Reiter
Requests for searches include AVC-Academic Affairs (Judy Lloyd) and
CON Dean (Paulette Feld.) Sandy Muinde is off the LGBTQ committee
Charity Chandler is in.
· Classified Staff Grant Committee Sabrina Johnson
Six people have responded so far to the grant. The deadline is October
28th.
· CSDAD Planning Jean Bord
Work is being done to finalize the contract for the speaker. Surveys
for programs will be out soon; suggestions for new programs would
be great. Cindy Schultz is considering doing something with fleece
HOORAY!! Games, programs, and facilities committees all need people.
The Chancellor is considering having a drawing for football tickets,
either Packers or Badgers, or both, for the winning team. If there
are any suggestions for entertainment during the ice cream time, pleas
forward to Jean Bord.
· Grant Fund Raising Committee -
Committee has not met yet.
· Marketing Cindy Schultz
Committee has not met yet they will be soon.
OLD CSAC BUSINESS
· The results of the CSAC volunteer opportunities vote were
revealed. The Oshkosh Seniors Center was the winner. Red will contact
them and find out how we can help. Maybe a spring cleaning bee?
· The idea of a CSAC sponsored run/walk event was explored.
Jill R. will speak with Chancellor Wells about connecting it to the
opening day run/walk.
· Breast cancer research was nominated as the first charity
to fund.
· The filth of the Pollock House was discussed and the possibility
of cleaning it came up. Evelyn M. will contact Tom Keefe to find out
how the building is maintained.
· It was recognized that Red D. has worked hard to make the
volunteer project a soon-to-be reality. Raucous applause for Red ensued!
· Tim D. mentioned that the CSAC is not subject to Wisconsin
Open Meetings Law.
· Several options for a potential holiday get together were
discussed. Jill is checking on restaurants. Most people like January
as the timing.
· The Tibetan Monks are returning to the area.
NEW CSAC BUSINESS
No new business to discuss at this time.
