TREASURERS REPORT
There is a balance of $526.11 in the account at this time. Karen informed the committee that the costs for one more newsletter will be coming out of that figure with any balance remaining to be rolled over for the next year.
CHAIRS REPORT: U-Plan Jill handed out budget material she received at the U-Plan meeting which addresses UW Oshkoshs budget requests for the 07-09 biennium. Tim Danielson explained that UW Oshkosh needed to plan for enrollment growth for several reasons: UW Green Bay and UW Stevens Point each have put together an aggressive enrollment growth plan that makes it clear that they expect to take students away from us, so if we dont also have a plan in place, they may be able to do so plus it may give System a reason to say they would cut our budget/enrollment to give that support to the other campuses so they can grow.
CSAC website Jill advised the committee that Laura Rommelfanger from the Chancellors Office has offered to keep the CSAC website updated for us. The committee agreed that we would both accept and appreciate her help. Jill will send an e-mail to all CSAC committee chairs to let them know that they should send any changes for their areas to Laura.

OLD CSAC BUSINESS
Volunteer Project Update Red Darland
The day turned out to be a great opportunity, despite the rainy weather. The help was greatly appreciated and the classified staff who volunteered enjoyed the experience. Red will send a copy of the thank you letter received from the Senior Center to all participants and the Chancellor.
NEW CSAC BUSINESS
Format of CSDAD Jill
Jill received information from Paula Hayford (Student Health Center) about a day similar to our CSDAD put on by the UW Extension- Outagamie County. The day was shorter (8 2:15) and consisted of three speakers and a lunch instead of all the workshops we have traditionally had. Council discussion ensued concerning possible changes to our day with consideration of the problems we have experienced in the past. Jill will present some of our ideas to the Chancellor to get his thoughts on changing our format.
Election Results Cindy
Cindy welcomed new committee members, Julie Wilkinson and Sara Stichert to the meeting, and congratulated Marlene, Patty, Michelle and Karen on being reelected for another term.
She informed the council that voter turnout has improved since last year and the process went much smoother without using the write-in system. Jill mentioned that Kim Nguyen from Academic Computing helped OSA with their online election and it went very well. She will contact him for the same type of help with our election for next year.
Cindy also made the council aware that there is still an unfilled position in the Trades area (Jerry Murphys position.) If anyone knows of an interested staff member that would be able to fill that spot, please bring it to the councils attention.
Jill reminded everyone that all officer seats are up for election this year, and asked that council members be prepared to nominate and vote at the next meeting. Anyone accepting nomination will be asked to say a few words about what area on campus they come from, what other committees they may be involved in, etc. to give council members some information before the vote takes place.
All new and current council members were reminded to get a picture to Jill for our website (if they havent already done so) along with bios to go with the pictures.
OSA Resolution: Tom Shields, current OSA Vice President, explained the OSA-05-039 resolution opposing the proposed amendment to the state constitution which would invalidate civil law and domestic partner unions. He cited the concerns this could cause in many areas, including domestic violence against women. Tom did a great job presenting the information and asking for CSAC support of the resolution.
Jill will send a copy of the amendment to all council members to read in its entirety. The council will be asked to vote at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
NEXT CSAC MEETING: Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. in Dempsey 212.
Respectfully submitted,
Terry Olson, Student Services Manager
