APPROVAL OF MINUTES

February 8, 2006 minutes approved as written by committee consensus.

TREASURER’S REPORT

After starting with a balance of $887.00, there have been $208.41 of expenditures so far this academic
year (Volunteer Buttons, Dreamweaver, Star Award Frames, and Duplication charges) leaving us with a
balance of $678.59.

CHANCELLOR WELLS
Chancellor Wells joined our meeting to give us updates on several issues:

Integrated Marketing Team  Chancellor explained that a team has been put together to identify how we can best market what UW Oshkosh has to offer to the constituents who actually need/want what we have.  He used the CON Accelerated Nursing Degree as an example of what other areas may need to do.

Key Operational Plans  The council was urged to pick one or two areas of the key operational plan we feel may be most important to our constituent group to focus on.  We can then, either as a group or individually, give feedback on those areas.  If we need help or have questions, we are to feel free to let the Chancellor’s Office staff know.

Budget  Chancellor informed the council of several budgetary issues:  UW Oshkosh is one of the few UW campuses that did not have to re-do their budget mid-term; work has started on the budget for the next biennium; UWs can put together “cost-to-continue” reports if they choose to do so.  UW Oshkosh does plan to put documentation together concerning enrollment growth.

CHAIR’S REPORT

Jill informed the council that OSA is hosting a Regents’ Listening Session (w/two regents) at 6:00 pm on March 23, 2006 in Reeve Union 202.

She also shared that an OSA student, Tom Shields, is running for the Student Regent position.

Jill reminded the council that the Roseanne Hoefel 5K run is at the end of this month for those who plan to participate.

The Millenium project was mentioned.  Tim Danielson explained that UW Oshkosh has been using the holistic approach for admissions for the past few years. This is where many facts about the prospective student are reviewed, not just class standing and test scores, when making admission decisions.

The committee has decided to use three big door prizes instead of the many prizes offered in previous years to make it easier to distribute the prizes.  Possibilities for these prizes are an iPod, a portable DVD player, and a digital camera.  Winner would need to be present to accept the prize.

Chamber gift cards will be purchased to give as a prize to the members of the winning CSDAD Team.  Any gift cards left over will be given out at a drawing at the end of the day.

The t-shirts for the day will be two different shades of blue.

Elections

An e-mail went out to remind everyone to VOTE!  It will be approximately one week before the results of the votes are in.

Newly elected members will be invited to attend the April meeting and encouraged to talk to any of the current officers in preparation for May’s meeting when officers will be elected.  Anyone currently on the council who may be interested in one of the officer positions should feel free to contact the current officer if they would like more information on what the position entails.

Jill mentioned that Kim Ngyen did a program to allow the OSA elections to be done on-line.  This may be an option we should check into for future  CSAC elections.

Healthy Titans 2010
The program has gone over really well, with over 200 people signed up.  So many folks were interested that some had to be sent to Theda Care to get the screening done.

NEXT CSAC MEETING:  Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. in Dempsey 212.

Respectfully submitted,
Terry Olson, Student Services Manager
