The Sally Margis Classified Staff Professional Development Fund is a new grant available to classified staff members. Annette Blanchette ’60, who served UW—River Falls as a classified staff member for 32 years, started this fund to help classified staff “Jumpstart a dream…” and achieve their personal and professional goals. The Sally Margis Fund will provide a sum of money annually which will be used to support costs associated with career development. The purpose is to enrich yourself through education and/or training. You can use the money to take a class, purchase textbooks, provide daycare to attend class, etc. The “dream” does not have to be related to your current position on campus.
To receive this grant, you must be a permanent, project or a recurring limited term employee at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Eligible classified staff employees must have worked on the UW Oshkosh campus for at least one calendar year. Applicants must fill out an application form and provide a statement of intent (handwritten or typed) limited to two pages, double-spaced, including the following information:
- Education and/or training/workshop that you plan to attend.
- How will this education, training or workshop further your career development or advance your skills?
- What
direct or indirect costs will the award cover?
Recipients will give a follow-up report on funds received at the annual Classified Staff Development Day.
Please submit application materials by April 10th. Click here to fill out the application!
