Paulette Feld

Paulette Feld is an IS Network Support Technician at Polk Library. She has worked at the library for 22 years in various positions. Her current responsibilities include troubleshooting the public and staff workstations in the library as well as working at the Reference Desk most afternoons.

Along with library committees and CSAC, she serves on the CSAC Awards Committee and Professional Development Committee. In addition, Paulette is President of Local 579 of AFSCME Council 24, the Wisconsin State Employees Union. The local represents classified employees on the UW Oshkosh campus. She serves on Council 24’s Executive Board as representative for the Technical Bargaining unit and is liaison to the Council’s Organizing Committee.

In addition Paulette has served on committees for the Wisconsin Library Association and the American Library Association. This included serving as Chair of the WLA Support Staff Section in 1995, WLA Secretary in 2001 and Chair of the ALA Support Staff Interest Round Table in 1998/99. Her Library Support Staff activities have included presenting programs at the ALA, COLT and WLA Annual Conferences and also programs for state library groups in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Colorado, Tennessee and Minnesota.

In June 2000, Paulette received the Library Mosaics and the Council on Library/Media Technicians (COLT) National Support Staff of the Year Award.

In her spare time, Paulette enjoys gardening, camping and doing needlework.
