Linda Koon hit the ground running when she took
over the renovation schedule at the Center for Community Partnerships
(CCP). A "can-do" person, Koon got everyone to cooperate and pack up their individual rooms, worked out new room assignments and arranged equipment reassignments. During a weeklong mess while carpeting was being replaced, she ensured that tech students had computers set up while arranging storage areas for other supplies. The first day of the move, the university services associate was there with her upbeat attitude, ready and raring to go. “Custodial services was impressed with her organization, and the first day of moving went without a hitch,” said Sandy Nigl, who nominated Linda for this award. “Without her diligent work and organizational skills, the renovation would have been chaos.” Koon oversees student payroll and department accounting. She sets up internships, accounts payable and receivable, and supervises up to 50 students. “I think it’s nice to work for a place that shows appreciation for the extras that you do,” said Koon. |
