March 2005 STAR Award Recipient

Delynn Nordhaus
CCDET PA

Delynn Nordhaus stepped in when the going got tough. “She really shined for us during a time of high stress and staff absence,” said Pat Nichols, Center for Career Development and Employability Training (CCDET) operations manager, who nominated Delynn for the award.

Delynn, a UW-Oshkosh employee since 1992, handles payroll and accounts payable for the CCDET. In September and October, she unexpectedly had to take over the duties of two other employees. For two months, she handled responsibilities for the Youth Employment Service (YES) program designed to meet the needs of young adults who have graduated from high school or dropped out of high school and are looking for education and career assistance. She also took over for the person in charge of CCDET personnel.

“Delynn was able to carry us through … making sure all payrolls were met, staff personnel actions were taken care of, the phone was answered and other items were processed,” Nichols said. “She also took responsibility for getting our student assistants up to speed on the new KRONOS payroll system.”
