Custodian Traci Luft’s attitude and dedication toward the CHAMPS (Challenging Athletes’ Minds for Personal Success) program earned her the Star Award for the month of August.

The program, which provides academic support to student athletes, nearly doubled Luft’s responsibilities. However, Luft continued to provide outstanding service.

“Traci has now been given a greater work load and is required to commit more time to her job, but you would never know she has been given more work because of her generous character,” wrote CHAMPS program coordinators Tim Locum and Michele Losey in their letter of nomination.

Luft credits the people she serves as inspiration for her work ethic.

“Taking care of the needs of the people that I work for gives me a sense of self satisfaction,” Luft said. “Everyone is very appreciative of the work I do for them. In turn, that makes me want to strive to do a better job for them.”
