December Star Award Recipient
Nancy Mugerauer
Mugerauer doesn't quitStoic dedication and endless effort are admirable qualities. They are worthy of the Star Award. December's Star Award winner Nancy Mugerauer represents those qualities in all of her duties as a university associate for the Office of Field Experience in the College of Education and Human Services (COEHS). Her multitude of responsibilities include helping facilitate more than 1,000 preservice teacher placements and about 200 human service field placements. She coordinates meetings for students and faculty, including the extensive arrangement of semi-annual mock interviews for student teachers. Mugerauer also is responsible for all the paperwork required to obtain teacher licenses endorsed by COEHS. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of the Star Award, said MaryBeth Petesch, director of the Office of Field Experience. That sentiment was echoed by Mugerauer's colleagues and Petesch's superiors. Mugerauer goes above and beyond. She became a notary public simply as a service to the students. She handled the office by herself when Petesch was out on medical leave. She took on this full-time-plus job without a word of complaint,Petesch said. She truly has been a shining STAR to me during this difficult time in my personal and professional life. Mugerauer has worked in the office for nearly 22 years. She has been with the COEHS since 1971. The Star Award recognizes performance above and beyond expectations. It includes a framed certificate, a reserved parking space for a month and a gift from University Books and More. The award is presented each month to employees who have worked at least six months at UW-Oshkosh. |
