November Star Award Recipient
Rose Mansell

Job excellence plus unlimited dedication is a good combination, and it's why Rose Mansell won the November Star Award.   Mansell has worked in the system programming department at UW-Oshkosh as a system administrator since 1993. She is responsible for installing and upgrading various hardware and software.   In addition to her numerous job duties, she selflessly comes in early, stays late and even works on weekend and holidays while maintaining a positive attitude.

"Even early in the morning on weekends when she was at home, I have always found her pleasant and willing to do whatever she could to resolve an issue," said Margaret Bekkers, applications analyst/programmer in Administrative Computing.

Mansell is responsible for the PeopleSoft Student Administration Software and the PeopleTools software installation and upgrades, including HP-UX computers, application and Web servers. She also has been in charge of PeopleSoft security.  She surpasses Bekkers expectations, making sure the systems are available to the offices and students as much as possible.

"Rose consistenly asks 'Who has more fun?" with her big smile, Bekkers said.

The Star Award recognizes performance above and beyond expectations. It includes a framed certificate, a reserved parking space for a month and a gift from University Books and More. The award is presented each month to classified employees who have worked at least six months at UW-Oshkosh
