December STAR Award Recipient
Ellen Lloyd |
College of Letters and Science Dean Michael Zimmerman
nominated Ellen Lloyd for the December Star
Award because he felt Lloyd went “above
and beyond.” “In her short time she has worked in my office, she has exceeded the expectations of her position and clearly exemplifies the kinds of attributes that deserve recognition,” Zimmerman said. “Her helpful manner, overall pleasantness and irreproachable work ethic have contributed enormously to a seamless transition in my office.” Lloyd came to the L&S Dean’s Office in February, filling the dean’s assistant post that had been vacant for six weeks. The office was about to enter a busy period, but she hit the ground running. Lloyd worked extra hours to learn the process and managed the many details involved in the tenure/renewal cycle for faculty. “This was a complete surprise!” Lloyd said. “I really appreciate this recognition. It's also great having that parking spot!” Lloyd began at UW-Oshkosh in 1972 in the political science department. In 1983, she moved to the art department, where she remained until she came to the Dean’s Office. |
