The Star Award
The objective of this monthly award is to recognize performance above and beyond the expectations of their position and responsibilities for classified staff, limited-term employees and project appointment employees. This award is for a short-term performance of a special project, creative idea, or exceptional support of others. Each person receiving the award will be recognized in the Bulletin and the Classified Comments. This award expeditiously recognizes employees who have distinguished themselves by their commitment to excellence and to our University community.

CRITERIA
- Be a classified staff, limited-term (minimum of .50 FTE) or project appointment employee for at least six months and not received the award in the last 36 months.
- Be nominated by University personnel and/or students, no self-nominations.
- Demonstrate commitment to the University by virtue of outstanding short-term performance in support of the University's goals. Special projects, creative ideas, exceptional support of others are examples. PLEASE NOTE: We are looking for individuals who have performed above and beyond the expectations of their assigned position and responsiblities.
AWARD
- A framed certificate signed by the Chancellor/Director of the applicable administrative section or dean of the applicable college.
- A reserved parking spot for the specific Star Award month (not transferable to another month) at a location mutually agreed upon by the employee and the UW Oshkosh Parking Director.
- A choice of one of three gifts from University Books and More.
PROCESS/TIMING
There will be one award each month. Employees are nominated at anytime throughout the year. The Classified Staff Advisory Council will appoint an Awards and Recognition Committee. Monthly, the nominations are reviewed by the Awards and Recognition Committee. Nominations will be evaluated and remain in consideration for nine award periods. Awards will be given as soon as possible after selection by the Chancellor/Director/Dean signing the certificate.
