Outstanding Performance Award
PURPOSE
The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh recognizes the contributions
of classified staff, limited-term employees and project appointment
employees by selecting individuals for an Outstanding Performance
Award. The Award recognizes excellence in providing service to the
University community and emphasizes its importance to the academic
environment and overall reputation of the University as a whole. One
to three individuals will be selected each year to receive this Award.

ELIGIBILITY
Current classified staff, limited-term employees and project appointment
employees who are at least .50% FTE and have worked at the University
of Wisconsin Oshkosh for three consecutive years are eligible for
the Award.
CRITERIA
The criterion may include demonstrated excellence in providing
service; excellence in one's area of assignment; documentation of
excellence including peer recommendations; evaluations by the head
of the unit; citations or awards or any other appropriate supporting
information; participation in University activities at the unit, college,
university and/or community levels.
A statement relating these activities to excellence
in one's area
of assignment is to be provided by the nominee.
SELECTION PROCESS
a. Nominations
In April of each year, nominations for the Outstanding Performance
Award will be solicited. All University personnel and students are
eligible to submit nominations.
b. Selection Committee
An Awards and Recognition Committee will be appointed by the Classified
Staff Advisory Council.
c. Procedure
- Nominations will be solicited and received by the Awards and Recognition Committee by May 1.
- The Committee will verify the employment eligibility of individuals who are eligible to receive the Award.
- The Committee will ask for documentation from each nominee by June 15.
- The Committee will draw up a list of no more than four (4) and no less than two (2) individuals they recommend for receipt of the Award. This list should NOT be ranked.
- The Committee's recommendations and supporting documentation will be forwarded in mid-July to the Chancellor, who will select the recipient(s) of the Award. If the Chancellor needs additional information, clarification, or advice, he/she will request a meeting with the Awards and Recognition Committee.
PRESENTATION
The Outstanding Performance Award is presented during the University's
annual opening day ceremony in the fall.
