How do I register for Criminal Justice Courses?

Each semester all Criminal Justice Majors and Minors will be required to obtain departmental consent to enroll in all criminal justice courses (except for CJ 103 or CJ 110).  In order to enroll in criminal justice courses, a CJ faculty member must approve of the courses in which you would like to enroll.  Once the courses have been approved, they will be listed on your star report and the CJ faculty member will sign your star report.   AFTER you have a signed STAR REPORT listing the courses in which you wish to enroll, bring it to Jenny Davies (the Criminal Justice Department Associate).  Her office is in Clow Faculty Room 401.  She will be the only one on campus that will be able to register you for your selected classes.  Except for CJ 103 or 110, students will NEVER be able to enroll in criminal justice courses on their own.

NOTE: This will be required each semester for ALL majors & minors. Emails will not be accepted.

Registration and Enrollment for CJ Majors with fewer than 60 Credits

In order to get departmental consent, students with fewer than 60 credits must attend “Group Registration”.  Group Registration is held for 2 weeks at various times during the middle of the registration period. Posters will be posted around Clow and on the 4th floor of the Clow Faculty building (check criminal justice bulletin boards to find the time, date, and location of Group Registration Meetings). If you miss group registration you will be required to follow the steps required for CJ majors with 60 credits or more.  It is necessary that you bring your STAR report to the group registration meeting.

Registration and Enrollment for CJ Majors with more than 60 Credits

If a CJ Major has more than 60 credits, she or he must set up an appointment to meet with their Criminal Justice Faculty Advisor (a student’s CJ faculty advisor is listed on the student’s STAR report).  Please come the Criminal Justice Department (4th floor of Clow Faculty) and schedule an appointment with your assigned advisor. Sign-up sheets for faculty advising are posted outside of each faculty member’s door. If your advisors’ office hours conflict with your class schedule, contact your advisor and attempt to schedule an alternate time to meet.  If an accommodation cannot be made review the other appointment slips for other CJ faculty members, and schedule an appointment with an alternative CJ faculty member.  It is necessary that you bring your STAR report to your meeting with your advisor.
