Students At Risk Response Team
UW Oshkosh has developed a Students At Risk Response Team (SARRT) to coordinate student support resources to assist distressed students to maintain satisfactory academic progress and to promote their health and well-being.
Our primary focus is to develop strategies which address concerns regarding students’ well-being or behavior that is potentially harmful to self and/or others or is disruptive/threatening.
Typical consultations may involve students with mental health problems, such as:
- alcohol and drug problems
- aggressive/disruptive behavior
- eating disorders
- depression
- suicide warning signs
SARRT meets weekly to develop a coordinated response to best meet the student’s needs.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to contact SARRT when they are concerned about a distressed student and don’t know how to proceed. The concerned faculty/staff member will discuss the student’s situation and options for how to best proceed.
