Men must take responsibility for ending violence against women.
What we are about...
Men's Educational Network for Campus Awareness of Relationship Education (MENCARE) is a campus organization run by caring, strong men who want to end sexual assaults and other violent acts against women at UW Oshkosh. It is understood that our strength is not for hurting and that as men we are a powerful voice to speak out against the violence against women that affects all of our lives.
MENCARE's main objective is to open an extensive line of communication to encourage men to speak out against violence toward women on the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh campus.
What we do...
- Educate the UW Oshkosh campus about healthy relationships.
- Provide students with information to protect themselves and help others around them
We aim to inspire more men to...
- Take a stand against men's violence
- Play an active role in promoting healthy, vibrant relationships.
Ways YOU can help...
- Make a personal promise never to commit, condone, or remain silent about sexual assault
- Be proactive-notice how our culture perpetuates an environment where sexual assault and other forms of violence against women can exist.
- Talk to your partner. Open up the lines of communication about what feels comfortable and what doesn't.
- No means no, but what does silence mean? Ask this of your dates.
CARE / MENCARE work together on some projects such as Take Back the Night, campus presentation, information tables, and special events
