Background and Counseling Philosophy:
Denise is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Professional Counseling program. She first became acquainted with the University Counseling Center in 2008 as a graduate student intern and also has been involved with the Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (AODA) sanctioning program on campus. Through the Center for Balance, she has done stress management consultation and conducted a relaxation class at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
As a counselor, Denise’s goal is to provide a safe place for the self-exploration and personal growth of her clients. She helps students challenge ineffective beliefs, process feelings, and learn to advocate for themselves. Denise encourages clients to take an active part in their ongoing growth and development.
