Application Process for Traditional Nursing Option
Step 1: Apply to the University
Current UWO students can skip to step 2. Prospective/Transfer students must complete Step 1 prior to submitting the Traditional Nursing option application. A valid UWO ID and Email address will be issued upon acceptance to the University when appropriate fees are paid. A UWO ID and Email are required to complete the nursing application. UW Oshkosh Application is available onlineor at the UW Oshkosh Admission office in Dempsey 135
Step 2: Prerequisites Coursework and Required Testing
The following requirements are to be completed prior to applying to the Nursing Traditional Option. Read the instructions and follow deadline dates to ensure completion.

Step 3: Apply to the Traditional and/or SOAR AHEAD and SAIL AHEAD Options in the Undergraduate Nursing Program (Both Part A & Part B MUST be completed) - Application links for the January 30, 2012 deadline will be available soon.
Part A: Electronic Data Information Form for the August 30th application deadline will be available in May 2012.Data collected is matched with your written application completed in Part B. READ BEFORE COMPLETING: Applicants MUST have a valid UWO ID and Email address to complete BOTH Part A and Part B of the application. UWO ID and email accounts are provided to students once they have completed Step 1 and have been accepted to UW Oshkosh. Applicants who do not provide their UWO ID and email will be deemed ineligible. Once you have submitted this form you will not be able to retrieve it, check for accuracy before you hit submit. DO NOT REDO AFTER YOU HAVE SUBMITTED it will not retrieve previous data. Contact Sue Robl at robl@uwosh.edu to alert her of any changes. All fields are to be completed or marked (N/A) if they do not apply. DO NOT use "SAME" in any of the fields. All fields must be filled in. Information gathered is critical to the application process. Part B: Written Application for the August 30th Application deadline will be available in May 2012. STOP - Please note instructions for running Criminal Background Check and signing up for Admission Interview will be done after application deadline date. Please complete and print out ALL sections of the Written application form for submission by the appropriate deadline date. Supporting documentation should be attached to this application as outlined on the Undergraduate Program Checklist for Clinical Admission. Your written application will be matched with the electronic data sheet you provided to complete your application process. SOAR AHEAD AND SAIL AHEAD applicants should submit to addresses provided on written application. Step 4: Criminal Background CheckApplicants will be sent an email alerting them to complete a criminal background check AFTER the applications deadline. Applicants will be asked to create an account with the company we use to run background checks. A specific account code wll be provided. Associated fees will be the student's responsibility. Deadline dates for completion will be provided in the email. This account will be used throughout program if accepted. Do not lose your account information.
Step 5: Admission InterviewStudents will sign up for an admission interview online according to the Deadlines/Important Dates information provided below. Further details can be found in Admission Requirements.
Students applying for BOTH the Traditional and Accelerated Nursing OptionsStudents applying and accepted for the Traditional and Accelerated Nursing options must choose ONLY one option a minimum of one week prior to the start of the regular 14-week University semester. Failure to comply with this request will result in the removal from the list of accepted students for BOTH options. A completed Withdrawal Form for Admission Acceptance to Traditional or Accelerated Option must be on file with the Undergraduate Program Office (N/E 148) indicating your decision. If one acceptance date is before the other has been announced the applicant must either accept or decline the spot offered. There are no holding of spots. You are allowed to withdraw from one if that situation arises using the the form listed above. Current University of Wisconsin Oshkosh StudentsStudents eligible to apply to the clinical major must submit the admission application for the College of Nursing. Transcripts are not necessary for current UW Oshkosh students, unless courses were taken elsewhere while at UW Oshkosh. Admission into the College of Nursing to start Spring 2013:Applications Due: August 30, 2012 Interview Dates: Early October TEAS Test Dates for the Traditional Option: April 17, 2012 from 5-9 p.m. May 23, 2012 from 5-9 p.m. June 18, 2012 from 2-6 p.m. July 19, 2012 from 2-6 p.m. September 15 from 8 a.m. - 12 noon AND 1-5 p.m. All the above test dates will be located in the UWO Halsey Computer lab, room 101C.
