Curriculum

In addition to the 30 credits of nursing obtained from NTC, the following will be required to obtain a baccalaureate degree from UW Oshkosh.

The total number of credits required of a UW Oshkosh baccalaureate degree is 120.

  • 30 completed as part of the BSN completion program

General Education

Students are required to complete 60 credits of general education courses, including pre-nursing required courses, campus specific degree requirements and electives. Electives are courses of your choosing and can be either general education or nursing electives.

Pre-nursing courses:

  • English I
  • Biology
  • Sociology
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Speech
  • Chemistry and Biochemistry*
  • Psychology
  • Microbial Survey
  • Growth and Development

* Students having obtained their ADN in the Fall 2006 or later will be required to take chemistry and biology as part of their degree completion plan. Chem 250 and PHS (physical science) 250 are offered through UW Colleges on-line.  While they are not the only way to complete the requirement, the are an approved, on-line way to fulfill the lack of science in some ADN degrees.
