Information

Students participating in the BSN@Home option select one of five universities (UW-Eau Claire, UW-Green Bay, UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee and UW Oshkosh) to be designated as their "home" institution. This school provides all student-related services (i.e., advising, financial aid, registration) and the unique practicum and capstone course that provide students with an integrative educational experience. Students enroll at their home institution but take theory classes online from any of the five universities.

Nursing courses in the shared curriculum are offered by all five institutions. Core nursing courses will be offered frequently to ensure that students have multiple options for courses and program completion.

The baccalaureate degree in nursing will be awarded by the home institution. The degree is AACN accredited and approved by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing.

Progress Check

Your Student Academic Record, or STAR, is your progress check as you work through the BSN@Home. You have access anytime through TitanWeb.

Orientation to BSN Degree Completion Option

In your first semester, you should enroll in Nursing 324- Orientation to Clinical Major. This course can be taken at anytime in the pre-nursing sequence. This course will answer many of your questions, place you in contact with other registered nurses who are pursuing a BSN, and provide an opportunity to meet faculty who teach in the BSN@Home Program. This course also covers the various methods available to gain credit which should help in your program planning.

Registration for courses

Registration for courses will involve using BSN@Home registration procedures for nursing courses, Oshkosh registration procedures for UW Oshkosh courses (such as orientation and clinical courses), and other campus procedures for non-nursing courses.

BSN at Home courses

Registration is completed online. Exceptions are the two clinical courses and Orientation to Clinical Major. To register for either of these courses, contact Dawn Arnold at arnoldd@uwosh.edu.

UW Oshkosh Courses

Complete registration online using Titan Web or contact your adviser.

Courses offered by campuses other than UW Oshkosh

You will need to apply to any other school you attend, and then follow the registration procedure of the respective campus. Be sure to have your official transcripts sent to UW Oshkosh after the course is completed and a grade is posted.

Enrollment in Nursing 6, "Nursing RN" (0 credits)

After you have been accepted at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, complete registration for Nursing 006- Nursing RN (0 credits) each semester that you do not take a course from UW Oshkosh. This will keep your place as a student so you do not have to re-apply the next semester.  There is no fee involved. To do this, contact your adviser.
