Academic Prerequisites

A minimum grade of C is required in all of the prerequisite courses.

Applicants must complete the equivalent of all of the UW Oshkosh courses listed below. Course descriptions can be found in the online catalog. Matching course descriptions, however, does not ensure course equivalency.

Upon admission to the University, a “transfer credit evaluation” is sent to the applicant showing course equivalencies. Applicants with questions regarding prerequisite coursework are advised to contact the advisor for the Accelerated Online Bachelor's to BSN option at (920) 424-7215 or ona@uwosh.edu.

All six science prerequisites, including General Biology, Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, General Chemistry I, Biochemistry (or General Chemistry II ) and Microbiology, must have a lab component.  If the course is an online course, a virtual or "in-home" lab component must be completed.  For any online science courses, please consult with the Accelerated Option Advisor ona@uwosh.edu / (920) 424-7215 to ensure transferability of the course(s).

To be eligible to apply for admission, applicants to the Accelerated Option must have all prerequisite courses completed:

-- By the end of the fall semester for May applicants.

--By the end of the summer term for October applicants.

At least four of the six required sciences must be completed by the application deadline

A clearly defined plan for completion of all prerequisite coursework prior to the start date is required as part of the application process.  To be competitive, applicants are strongly advised to complete all coursework no later than the end of the semester in which the application is due (fall semester for May cohorts, spring semester for October cohorts).

Nursing 200 - "Human Growth, Development and Health Across the Lifespan" (also known as Developmental Psychology or Lifespan Psychology) is offered online through the UW Oshkosh College of Nursing.
