Undergraduate Traditional Nursing Program
Learning Lab
Dedicated as the Elmer Leach Learning Laboratory for Nurses in 1987
The College of Nursing Learning Laboratory provides an environment in which students participate in "hands on" learning. Students learn skills such as taking a client's blood pressure, administering injections and initiating intravenous therapy utilizing simulation models. Opportunities are provided for students to practice with each other under close supervision by faculty.
Equipment in the Learning Lab is currently in use at health care facilities where students have clinical placements. Supplies and equipment are also accessible for students to check out for practice outside of class.
Students attend three Lab courses sequentially during Sophomore II, Junior I and Junior II semesters. Individual supervised practice appointments are available. Hours of operation are 8:00-7:00 Monday through Thursday and 8:00 - 4:30 Friday. The Learning Lab is an open, welcoming, safe place for students to learn nursing skills that are needed for direct patient care.
Dian Pasquini RN, BSN is the Lab Manager and can be reached at 424-0013 if you have any questions.
