Master of Science in Nursing Program

RN to BSN (UW BSN at Home) to MSN

How the program works:

*General education courses must be taken first in the RN to BSN at Home program in order to meet the time to the Masters degree.

*Students in the RN to BSN program may take graduate required courses as BSN electives in order to expedite their entry into the graduate program.

*The MSN required classes that may be taken as RN to BSN electives include: 702 Health Care Policy & Politics (2 cr); 703 Health Promotion (2 cr); 707 Epidemiology (2 cr); 708 Ethics (2 cr); 719 Theory (3 cr).

*A grade of B or better must be attained in graduate courses and health assessment.

*During the last 2 BSN semesters, interested students should apply to the graduate program; students are considered ‘special students' until accepted.

*Taking a graduate course does not mean acceptance into the graduate program. Students must make application.

*Graduate tuition is paid for graduate courses

*The 5 year limit to the Masters degree from the time of first graduate course must be maintained.

*Students must meet prerequisite requirements for the graduate program including a 3 credit introductory statistics course within five years of admission (descriptive and inferential stats), a 3 credit health assessment course within two years of admission, a 3.0 undergraduate GPA.

REGISTRATION:

1. When a University of Wisconsin Oshkosh student takes a graduate course for Undergraduate credit, the student needs to contact the College of Nursing Graduate Office at (920) 424-2106 or email at congrad@uwosh.edu to have their name listed as a BSN at Home to MSN student.
