Blog entry for week ending Feb 17

Week 2

Since my last blog entry I set up a freenode.net account. I also learned about content types in Plone and how to make them. I also read the essay "The Cathedral and the Bazaar" which had lessons on what to expect/do when writing a program. The obstacle that i ran into this week was setting up my freenode.net. I went through all the steps of setting up a nickname, register it, identify it and setting enforce on. I was able to join a group and chat with people. But then when i logged out and logged back in it immediatly said that my name was not registered, even though it showed up as my nickname. I tried to register my name again, but that didn't work and i could no longer join a group. After logging out and back in a few times it started changing my name to guest although my username was still the same. I was finally able to get it to send me another email to register, i followed all the steps to establish my nickname again and now it appears to be working.

My goals for next week are to brainstorm and research some ideas on what to do for my group project. I also plan on reading "Git" by Susan Potter and answer the discussion question.  One challenge I can see running into is having a hard time finding an idea on what to do for my group project.
