The Week Ending February 3

by Lewis, Cory last modified Feb 03, 2017 03:58 PM

This week I downloaded VMWare for the first time and installed a Linux virtual machine on top of it. The version of Linux is Ubuntu, a popular and powerful version of Linux. For the first time, I installed software on a machine using the command line - the Linux command line specifically. The software that was installed is called Plone. Plone is an open-sourced software that hosts a website on a local machine. It has been used for intranets as well as helping companies gain a web presence. I look forward to working more with Plone and finding out how to use it and learning more about it. I also hope to learn more about Ubuntu and how to use it to the full.
