Advising Information

As a current student at UW Oshkosh, the UARC (Undergraduate Advising Resource Center), located in Dempsey, is the place where you will start out with a general advisor to help you plan your first two years of your prerequisite courses.  However, once you are accepted into the communication major, a faculty advisor will be provided for you.

The academic advisors in the Communication Department are equipped to assist you in taking the courses in a timely manner needed for graduation and they will encourage you to choose electives that best suit your interests.  Your academic advisor will be a valuable resource, especially upon graduation, when a reference could mean the start of your desired career.

If you have been accepted into the major and are unsure of who your faculty advisor is, refer to the first page of your STAR Report, located on Titan Web.

Any other questions regarding academic advisors can be directed to:

Kay Neal, Department Chair at neal@uwosh.edu

or

Sharon Hybke, Academic Department Associate at hybke@uwosh.edu

"I really appreciated the student culture in the major. Everyone was very supportive of one another and willing to take the time to share experiences and ideas."
